The UCI published the list of the teams which have received the WorldTour license for the 2020–2023 period: Alé BTC Ljubljana will be the one and only team representing Slovenia and Italy at the highest level of road cycling.
The news has been communicated during the UCI seminary which is taking place in Switzerland with the representatives of the UCI, of the teams and the organisers of Women’s WorldTour races.
The Team Manager Fortunato Lacquaniti commented: “It’s a historical day for Italian cycling and for our team; a one-year-long dream is finally a reality, thanks to our management, our sponsors, the staff. With Alessia Piccolo, the Alé Team and the new main sponsor BTC Company, we have worked hard to realise something that seemed difficult, almost impossible, but we reached our goal with determination. Thanks to all those who have helped us become a big team!”
