Ljubljana, 24 November 2004 – December at BTC City will be more than festive this year because the city of fun and shopping will play host to a series of events. All of us – the youngest, those slightly older and adults – will be given the opportunity to have some great fun. BTC is offering some extra locations to host social events such as concerts, sports events, dance nights, shows and performances, a Lego-cube exhibition and much more. Anyone seeking the perfect recipe for delicious festive meals will be given some words of advice by an experienced chef. And, of course, Saint Nicholas and Father Christmas will both be expecting you to officially announce the start of the holiday season.
At 5 p.m. on Friday 3 December Saint Nicholas is coming to Youth Alley accompanied by a concert by Romana Kranjčan. At 5 p.m. on Wednesday 15 December Father Christmas and his merry gang are coming to BTC City which has organised a concert by Trkaj especially for the occasion. Youth Alley will be full of life every weekend in December. Thursdays at 5 p.m. will host Tof with his academy of famous Slovenians; on Fridays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at noon there will be ice-skating with Games without frontiers and Ice theatre BTC. This year the ice-skating rink in Youth Alley will also be free and open every day of the week from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
It will also be fun in Hall D, situated in the basement of the Emporium department store, which will host a free school of hip-hop dancing at 5 p.m. on Thursday 2 December and Thursday 9 December Until mid-December Hall D will also exhibit the Carrera model racing system with a racing track.
In the month of December Hall A will be a land of Lego cubes. The big BTC LEGO fun ‘S kocke na kocko’ is already taking place and will last until 12 December. Hall A has opened up its doors to a Lego-cube exhibition named ‘Sprehod po čarobnem gradu’ which can be seen every day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Creative workshops, playrooms and story-telling will welcome your children every Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Lego world of Hall A. Besides playing with toys and having fun, parents and their children can donate some toys for humanitarian purposes as part of the toy-collecting initiative organised by BTC and Zveza prijateljev mladine named ‘Srečno tisti sreči, ki čaka, da te osreči’. Children are welcome to bring the toys they no longer play with and give them to children in need.
More than 500 toys have already been collected and we are truly hoping that as many toys as possible will be collected when this campaign ends on 12 December.
You should also definitely visit the upgraded roofed BTC City market which will host medieval Saturdays on 11 December and 18 December from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. where you can get good, old and secret recipes from an experienced chef.
From 20 November to 12 December a prize competition Kje se potepa zmajček Oli? will be taking place at BTC City. All adventurous detectives are welcome to take part in the hunt for the little dragon Oli who is hiding somewhere in BTC City. The only thing you need to join in the competition is the free coupon given to each visitor to the big BTC Lego fun. Once it is put in the small chest placed in the store where Oli is hiding, it will be waiting for the final draw. The winners will be announced on 14 December on our web page www.btc-city.com.
