The award ceremony in Maribor concluded the search for “Best wellness 2012/13”. Fourteen centres took part in the contest, which was held for the fifth year in a row. The participants were assessed by the general public as well as an expert jury.

The contest ran from the end of November 2012 till mid-March 2013, during which more than 18.000 votes were gathered by the editorial office of the TV-show “Dobro jutro, Slovenija” (“Good morning, Slovenia”). The most votes went to Orhidelia from Terme Olimia, the Wellness of Atlantis Water Park, and Vitarium Spa&Clinique from Šmarješke Toplice.

The main purpose of the contest is to enhance the general public’s awareness of wellness and an overall healthy lifestyle, as well as inform them about what Slovenian wellness centres have to offer. “The contest also encourages healthy competition among diverse centres, which raises the quality of their services”, says the editorial office of “Dobro jutro, Slovenija” (“Good morning, Slovenia”).

The participating wellness centres are placed in three categories: “tourism-large”, “tourism-small”, and “residents”.

In the category “tourism-large”, the majority of the votes once again went to Wellness Orhidelia from Terme Olimia. In the category “tourism-small”, Vitarium Spa & Clinique from Terme Šmarješke Toplice placed first. And in the category “residents”, victory once again went to Atlantis Water Park.
