This year’s Festival of shopping and fun will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 16th and 17th October, in BTC City Ljubljana. Visitors will again this year be delighted by special festival sale prices and other benefits, and there will also be a vast accompanying programme, enriched by music, fashion and dancing. The event will take place on several locations, on the central stage in the square between A hall and BTC Market, in the square Trg Mladih and on the lower floor of the Emporium hall. BTC City Ljubljana is celebrating its 20th anniversary of opening the first store.
The central happening will take place in the square between hall A and BTC Market, where organizers are planning different games, the wheel of fortune, a performance by dancing schools Kazina and PlesPlus, there will also be a fashion show with the presentation of autumn and winter fashion trends. On the Štork playground Baby Center we will even have something for our young ones. On Saturday, 16th October, there will be musical performances by two groups, Viktorji and Carice, and at 8pm a big concert by Davor Radolfi and Ritmo Loco. On Sunday, 17th October, there will be musical performances by folk ensembles Orkester harmonikarjev Pustotnik, Ansambel Roka Žlindre and Duo Harmonik, while the fashion show will be enriched by Trkaj’s performance at 5pm and a grand finale with the performance by Boštjan Bračič.
Trg mladih will be the spot to be for a modern sports party and the WII tournament, which will take place every hour between 12am and 4pm as well as the place of competing in Arcade dancing. Visitors will be able to eat and drink, as there will be lots of stalls with pancakes, chestnuts and mulled wine. Tourist agencies Svet križarjenj and Palma will present their current offers of travels and holidays.
The lower floor of Emporium hall will be set up mainly for our young ones. On Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 1pm there will be a children’s Živ žav with a musical and entertainment programme, led by Ribič Pepe, together with two mascots Beti and Cej. On both days the playground Beti in Cej will also be open.
First shops in today’s BTC City Ljubljana opened their doors in 1990, on the lower floors of today’s A, D and E halls and in halls 4 and 8. Today visitors can shop in more than 450 shops all over BTC City, shops offering everything from food products, cosmetics, and clothes to interior design. BTC City Ljubljana is the biggest European business, shopping, recreative-entertainment and cultural centre, which is yearly visited by 21 million people from Slovenia and abroad.
