Alongside the Atlantis Water Park a unique and interesting winter attraction in BTC City – the Ice Land – opened its doors, where children and adults can meet different fairy tale characters and the ice sculpture artists.
After already being set in Kranjska Gora, the Ice Land can now be found in the largest shopping centre in Slovenia. Until 28 February you will be able to visit the 200 m2 of covered area with a constant temperature of -7°C.
“The Ice Land presents interesting stories, embraced by the ice, taking the visitors on a journey to the period of the Neanderthals, the Roman heroes, the Argonauts and to the world of the dwarf Perkmandeljc, the little star Zvezdica Zaspanka, the strong man Martin Krpan, and the pretty Urška with her merman. By Christmas there will also be an ice Christmas crib put on display”, said Miha Rakar, the Director of the nearby Atlantis Water Park, about the interesting novelty. He added that the Ice Land had been carved from as much as 50 tons of ice by eight Spanish and Slovenian carvers who on top of other things had made sure the visitors would be able to go down an ice slide, ride the animals made of ice and sit on the ice throne, or make toasts with unique ice cups. A variety of interesting contents makes the Ice Land very attractive for children, families, organised kindergarten and primary school groups, or anyone who enjoys a nice, unusual outing.
Ice hockey players from Ljubljana already found out that the BTC City novelty is worth visiting, as did the Miss Universe contestants from Slovenia and Croatia, who simply loved the ice characters.
The Ice Land will be open until 28 February 2015 from Monday to Friday between 12 a.m. and 9 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. The family entrance fee is 15 € (2 adults and 2 children).
